So every January, Ashfield House closes to the public while we excitedly update and renovate our beautiful country house venue.
It is important to us to continue to improve Ashfield House so that our well-loved venue remains ahead of the trends and also fresh, stylish and never tired.
It is why we redecorate regularly, replace, renovate, restore and any other ‘r’ words we can think of?… refresh! We don’t want our couples who choose to get married at Ashfield House years in advance of their wedding to arrive on their wedding day to a dishevelled venue. That will never happen here at Ashfield House and we work with the amazing Rachel from Feather and Paint interior design to add subtle but striking changes that refresh and modernise Ashfield House while still remaining the blank canvas our brides and grooms love so much.
We inject stunning details that don’t detract from your chosen themes for your wedding day, and update decor and furnishings to stay at the forefront of couples minds.
Here are a few sneak peek images of what we have been up to over the last 6 weeks:
Hexagonal tiles into wooden floorboards. Hexagons are going to be everywhere this season
Hand lettering signage for the venue. It’s a late night job but someone has to do it! (and we love it)
I can hear the bells! Can you? Our restored service bells will be fully operational soon. One of our favourite new touches
The old canary yellow wallpaper has been replaced with the subtle but still striking feather design in the bridal suite
The front door has been restored back to the way it was in the early part of the 20th Century
We even got stuck in with one of our favourite hobbies – hand lettering
A beautiful balcony has been installed from the bridal suite. We seriously can’t wait for the incredible pictures that will be taken here overlooking the Douglas Valley
New radiator covers extend the length of the hallway
Our team of decorators gave the whole of the downstairs a refreshed paint job
In the bridal suite, new wood panelling and grey tones
Our original grand staircase gets a face lift
New stylish covers and lighting in the hallway
